

Himilo Microfinance Institution was born out of a desire to improve both the quality and accessibility of financial services available to poor and unbanked Somalis.
Himilo MFI is a microfinance institution that provides a Sharia compliant products and services. It is established to offer much-needed financial services to economically active poor and low-income households, small scale entrepreneurs especially women, youth, and nascent businesses, who would otherwise not have access to such services.
Osman is Chartered Accountant with over 32 years’ experience in Financial Management including Audit, Education and Training and Business Development experience. He worked for many organizations (both private and public sector) globally.
His recent area of expertise has been in Public Financial Management, supporting governments with the financial management reforms as well as delivering professional courses such as ACCA, CIPFA, IFRS, IPSAS and other financial management trainings to government employees under donor funded projects. Osman is fellow member of, Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and a member of Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accounting (CIPFA).
He is an expert on International Public Sector Standards (IPSAS), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), International Standards on Auditing (ISA) and International Standards of Supreme Auditing Standards (ISSAI) and Internal Controls Framework. He has an extensive experience in International Taxation; direct, indirect and transfer pricing.
His strong qualification backgrounds led him to work for many reputable national and international corporates, international organizations including UNDP, projects funded by the World Bank and government institutions.
