Mohamed Ismail Mohamed (MSc.) and currently PHD candidate for the Program of Peace, Governance and Development at UPEACE has over 30 years of working experience in different fields including diplomacy, training, accountancy and auditing in the private sector, advocacy, research, business, consultancy and statesman. He has MSc (Public Policy and Management) from King’s College London, University of London and a B. Com from University of Poona in Accounting and Auditing; Senior Manager Nonprofit Leadership Institute from Minnesota Council of Nonprofits; a host of Leadership seminars and Leadership Certificates from BWW in the United States.
As the Chairman of Kodmo Education Fund in Minnesota, Mohamed has extensively been involved in the provision of education to disadvantaged children in rural communities since 1998 and has succeeded in the construction and running of primary school in Puntland. He was advocate for disadvantage communities in Minnesota and assisted them at both State and Federal courts. He was Director General and later Project Manager for the Puntland Maritime Police Force. He authored several books including Himiladaada Hano, a best seller motivational book in Somali language, and has published several articles in governance; he has lectured at East Africa University in Bosasso. Since the starting of the democratization process of Puntland in 2012, Mohamed has seen the ratification of the constitution as the Secretary General of the Electoral Commission and is at present an MP and the Chairman of Mustaqbal Political Association.
