Himilo Microfinance Institution was born out of a desire to improve both the quality and accessibility of financial services available to poor and unbanked Somalis.
Himilo MFI is a microfinance institution that provides a Sharia compliant products and services. It is established to offer much-needed financial services to economically active poor and low-income households, small scale entrepreneurs especially women, youth, and nascent businesses, who would otherwise not have access to such services.
Amina Osman from Garowe transformed her small shop into a thriving wholesaler with the help of Himilo Microfinance. Initially facing financial barriers, she used their flexible, collateral-free loans to expand her inventory and business. Her success with the first loan led to a second, enabling her to source clothing globally. Amina’s journey highlights how microfinance empowers women and fuels economic growth.
